“A more grown up alternative to Phillips Hue” says Andrew Orange November 27 2013, 0 Comments

Demonstrating Halcyon to professional lighting designers puts us up for the ultimate criticism, but we let professional lighting designers have a hands on play at the annual Lux Live show in London.

We are pleased and proud to say that the pros were very impressed with Halcyon. Andrew Orange – respected lighting designer, blogger and long term colleague of the renowned Kevin McCloud, listed Halcyon as one of the 3 highlights of the show. He said “We liked Photonstar’s exciting ‘Halcyon’ colour changing lamp system – a more grown up alternative to the Philips Hue”. He has promised a full system review in a future blog post. Read his blog HERE.

Lorraine Calcott of ItDoes Lighting – lighting designer to the Google Building and the award winning Wellesley Hotel, was so impressed that she has backed the kickstarter campaign and started recommending Halcyon to her professional clients.

Halcyon will be featured in the show video created the team at Lux as a product that thoroughly impressed the whole team.

As well as “feeling the love” from the lighting design community, we drew quite a crowd as our “iglobot” promoted Halcyon in a less than conventional way walking around the show.
